Watercolor is the balance between technique, patience and the material's own will. We begin by going through basic forms and practicing sketching techniques. Next, we look at examples of flower painting and explore the properties of watercolor colors and different painting techniques. Watercolor is about control in interaction with chance. With brush, pigment and water, layers are created where transparency is key. The color is controlled by the amount of water, the absorbency of the paper and the timing of each brush stroke. Welcome to an inspiring knitting course at Fjäderholmarna! During this experience we will go through the basics of knitting, how to use different types of knitting needles and the most common knitting stitches and techniques. After the course, you have learned to cast on stitches, knit & purl stitches and how to shape the knitting by increasing and decreasing stitches. Knitting in the folk style is a meeting of tradition and craftsmanship. With simple utensils and natural materials, designs are created that carry the knowledge of generations. It's rhythmic, earthy and serene - a timeless technique that connects hands, heart and history. With beautiful weather, we sit right on the shore of the Baltic Sea outside the shop Elmina & CO. A creative workshop where we turn simple materials into ready-to-fly dreams. Here you don't just build something beautiful you create something that lifts. Choose from a classic box kite, an elegant delta dragon or a wind-friendly sled dragon. Using paper, bamboo, paint and string, we build from scratch and create a airborne masterpiece. You'll learn what makes a kite soar high, how to balance the design for stable flight, and why some shapes catch the wind better than others. Sculpting in wood

Improve your basic techniques of sculpting in wood. With traditional tools such as a hacksaw, mallet and knife. We talk different types of wood, preparation of materials o shape and what techniques are used to create shape and details. Try a flower, maybe a leaf shape, a face or an ornament. Develop the feeling of how the wood behaves when it is processed. The focus is on the work of the hand, the angle of the tool and creating something unique with the basic techniques. The course is suitable for both you who have never tried it before and you who want to deepen your knowledge in artisanal wood sculpture. All tools and materials are included.

Simple and tasty ways to enjoy the outdoors

Do you like the idea of outdoor recreation but find that camping stuff feel like equipment from another planet? Then this day is perfect for you! Together with Carlos we take on nature in an uncomplicated fun way. We start by arranging a fire safely to have coffee by the water, arranging a seating area from what the surroundings have to offer. Perhaps carve something useful. Then we row off to the nearby beach, where we build a temporary kitchen and cook lunch together, and it will be delicious, promise. In the afternoon we move to the highest point on Fjäderholmarna where Grönborg was once located, a place with views and history. Here we make a fire in a new way, fix seating and prepare dinner. You get to try cooking outdoors AND work on your kitchen utensils! A full day for those who want to get a grip on nature without becoming an outdoor professional. All you need is curiosity and humor.

Welcome to an inspiring writing workshop with poet and writer Bianca Barck! Find your own gaze and capture a feeling with words. No prior knowledge required. This is a chance to let go of achievement and let the language flow freely, vividly and intuitively. We approach writing as a craft, something that can be filed on, shaped and refined with curiosity and the right tools. The workshop mixes writing exercises, inspiration and reading aloud, both of Bianca's own texts and the poems of others. Through playful exercises and concrete writing tips, you get to try different ways to sharpen your expression and find your own poetic voice. Bianca Barck is a poet, writer and letter illustrator. I pralinprovningen ingår givetvis våra praliner och kaffe eller te för den som önskar. Vi pratar om chokladens hälsoaspekter och vad som är kvalitetschoklad och sk godischoklad. Under ca en timme får ni under lättsamma former veta lite om olika kakaohalter och chokladens historia. Vi berättar vår historia på ön och om Fjäderholmarnas historia förr och nu.
