Watercolor is the balance between technique, patience and the material's own will.
We begin by going through basic forms and practicing sketching techniques. Next, we look at examples of flower painting and explore the properties of watercolor colors and different painting techniques.
Watercolor is about control in interaction with chance. With brush, pigment and water, layers are created where transparency is key. The color is controlled by the amount of water, the absorbency of the paper and the timing of each brush stroke.
It requires planning, brighter lots need to be left free from the start. At the same time, technology is alive: colors flow, mix and dry in their own way.
